Satin (French satin, from Arabic Zaytuni, from Zaytun – the ancient Arabic name for the Chinese port of Quanzhou, from where this fabric was exported), is made from twisted cotton fibers with a characteristic double weave for this fabric. It is assumed that the more twisted the fiber, the brighter the fabric becomes, and it acquires a distinctive sheen. Satin is pleasant to the touch and most importantly, it withstands more than 300 wash cycles. Satin bedding is considered popular and comes in a rich range of colors, it is slightly cheaper than silk but much more expensive than the number of cotton fabrics. It has a soft, silky frontal surface dominated by weft threads; it is mainly produced in solid colors, printed, and bleached.
